Designing a new category of infrastructure
Details
Nature—Based—Systems reframes agriculture as infrastructure by transforming resilience into something measurable, contractible and investable. Developed in close partnership with the founding team, the work focused on defining the category rather than positioning within it. The organisation spans finance, agriculture, climate science and operations – each with its own logic, language and audience. The task was to align these perspectives into a single, coherent narrative, and give that narrative a clear form.

A visual identity grounded in contrast – finance and nature, system and landscape, scale and detail. A restrained typographic framework is paired with highly curated imagery, moving between expansive environments and material textures. The result signals permanence and control, while remaining rooted in real-world systems. Language, image and structure operate together, structuring complexity while maintaining a level of abstraction. The approach favours precision and restraint and enough is revealed to establish credibility; the system itself remains intentionally opaque.

Diagrammatic frameworks were developed to map relationships, actors and value across the system – providing context at scale and clarifying how resilience translates into performance. Rather than simplifying complexity, the work organises it. The identity extends across a broader communication system, including investor materials, visual frameworks and the 1.0 website supporting relaunch and go-to-market. The website acts as a structured interface, allowing different audiences to engage with the system at different levels of depth. A foundation for positioning agricultural resilience as infrastructure – and for engaging capital on those terms.
